Stanislav Petrov was a Lieutenant Colonel in the Soviet Union in 1983, when a computer malfunction told him that five US missiles had been fired. He decided not to fire. I have read several sources that say the information was first made public by a book written in 1998 by one of Petrov's former co-workers. I would like to know the name and/or author of this book.
What is the name of a 1998 book about Stanislav Petrov?
Could it be Vladimir Shlapentokh?
