What is the name of the tectonic plate boundary in California?

The one that causes many earthquakes - is it the San Andreas?

What is the name of the tectonic plate boundary in California?
Yes, it is the San Andreas Fault. The Pacific Plate on the west side of the fault is moving northward.
Reply:There is not really one boundary--the relative motion between the two plates is taken up by a number of faults. In Southern California there is the Imperial Fault, San Andreas Fault, San Jacinto Fault, Elsinore Fault, Rose Canyon Fault and Newport-Inglewood Fault, to name a few.
Reply:San Andreas fault - between the North American and Pacific Plates
Reply:It is the Fault line
